The Fire & Reason heat up the industry

“The band has the potential to break electro-rock in the mainstream—they could give the Ting Tings a run for their money.”- Time Out Chicago

“Firey, but not entirely reasonable; sexy music you can dance to” – NY Remezcla

“Hot, sweaty dance songs with hard basslines” – Batanga

It’s no shocker that former electro-clash Svengali and New York club-music impresario Larry Tee plans to release the debut album from this fresh-from-the-streets-electro-rock act. A combination of Lower East Side rock chick, ’80s Madonna, South American hipster and international jet-setter, Saona has that effortless star quality that sets some electro-rockers a few nothches higher right off the bat. Forming less then three years ago, The Fire and Reason features Brazil’s Bella Saona and Ecuador’s Steve Narvaez who joined forces to create some of the dirtiest rock, baille-funk electro-pop dance music blasting out of New York City. You could describe this Brooklyn-meets-Loisaida duo as a combination of Lower East Side rock chick, 1980’s Madonna, South American hipsters and international jet-setters. Their first hint of success came with the popular remix of hit song “NME,” featuring a cool remix by trendy Parisian DJ TOXIC AVENGER. Well known for their syncopated, complex Afro-Cuban electro beats, The Fire and Reason make no secret of their multi-cultural appeal, always proud to play to their Latin roots whether they are singing in English, Spanish or Portuguese. The Fire and Reason had the honor of taking home the BRINK OF FAME award at this year’s NewNowNext Awards, which premiered June 13 on Logo TV (MTV/VH1Networks). This award, (won by Lady Gaga at last year’s ceremonies) was a tremendous triumph for The Fire and Reason, the only unsigned band nominated within this category, and competing with acts such as Lykke Li, Morningwood, and Ladyhawke.
