Fashion Week is an excellent opportunity for American (and a few international) designers — ranging from Oscar de la Renta to Zac Posen — to show off their upcoming collections. The fashion shows are often entertaining, accompanied by loud, mood-setting music and changing lighting. But as soon as the glitz and glam of the runway go down its time to dance your ass off…

Although Paul Van Dyk’s musical masterpieces can increase your heart rate to a weight loss speed his live show adds another dimension to the equation. Backed by two live drummers (one on each side of the stage), three movie screens, and multi-colored lasers, PVD’s staggering Central Park show was the perfect medicine for that end-of-summer blues.
